FAQ
What is the difference between blur and mosaic?
Blur smooths the pixels in the selected area, while mosaic (pixelation) replaces groups of pixels with a single color block. Both effectively hide sensitive information.
Can I blur just part of an image?
Yes. Set the X, Y, width, and height to define exactly which area to blur, or choose "Full Image" to blur the entire image.
Can a blurred image be reversed to reveal the original?
No. Once an image is blurred and downloaded, the original pixel data is permanently lost. Blurring is a destructive operation that cannot be undone on the output file.
What blur strength should I use to hide text?
A blur strength of 10 or higher is recommended to make text unreadable. For sensitive information like license plates or IDs, use a higher strength or the mosaic option.
Is blurring secure enough to hide sensitive data?
Gaussian blur at high strength (15+) or mosaic pixelation effectively hides text and faces. However, for highly sensitive data, consider cropping the area out entirely rather than blurring.
